Abstract:

√ The replacement of teeth in esthetic area with dental implants is among the most challenging treatments for the dental teams.

In the last few years the soft tissue augmentation combined with the digital techologies are changing the approach of the implant positionig, prosthetic components and dental materials to enhance the healthy and functional aspects indistinguishable from a natural tooth. The lecture will highlight the benefits of the soft tissue augmentation

and answer on many questions regarding the timing and modality of implant placement, the prosthetic management of the peri-implant as well as the clinical protocols for immediate or delayed temporization, which will serves to sculpt and maintain the soft tissues contours around the implant restorations in single vs multiple site replacement. Moreover, several clinical cases will be presented to show the surgical and digital/prosthetic approach to treat malpositioned dental implants discussing a modern criteria to remove or manteined an implant in esthetic zone.

Giovanni Zucchelli Curricullum Vitae

Giovanni Zucchelli is graduated in 1988 from the university of Bologna, Italy with a degree in dentistry.

• He was awarded PhD in Medical Biotechnology in 1999 from the University of Bologna, Italy:
• Associate Professor of periodontology at the University of Bologna, Italy from 2000
• Received many awards for clinical research in periodontology in Europe and the United States.
In 2006 and 2008 is the winner of The AAP Foundation-E Bud Tarrson Research Award in Oral Plastic Surgery
• President Elect of theItalian Academy of Osteointegration (IAO)
• Active member of EAED (European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry),SIdP (Italian Society of Periodontology) and IAO (Italian Academy of Osteointegration); member of the European Federation of Periodontology
• Associate Editor of the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry and Member of the editorial board the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry.
• Peer reviewer in most ranked Periodontal Journals
• Author of 100 publications in Pubmed

Dr. Carlo Monaco C.V.

Carlo Monaco is Aggregate Professor of Prosthodontics and Director of the Master program in Prostheses and implant prostheses with advanced technologies at University of Bologna. He holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Bologna (1992). After graduation from the Dental School, he had worked as a scholarship holder at the Department of Oral Sciences, Division of Restorative Dentistry (1994-1996) and at the Division Prosthodontics and maxillo-facial rehabilitation (2000) of the University of Bologna. In 2003 he was invited as a visiting researcher to the Division of Cariology School of Dental Medicine, University of Geneva, Switzerland. In 2000 he obtained the master and in 2005 the Ph.D in Dental Materials at University of Siena. In May 2013 he obtained a second Ph.D in Material Engineering at Faculty of Engineering at University of Bologna, Italy. He is a frequent presenter and lecturer at scientific meetings, and received several national and international awards. He has held numerous continuing education courses in Italy and Europe. He has also reviewer of several scientific journals. He published over 50 papers and book chapters on national and international journals. In the last twenty years he developed with Prof. Giovanni Zucchelli new approaches regarding the relationship between Prostheses, new dental materials and periodontics and implant dentistry above all in the esthetic area.
